Happy Chinese New Year! Year of the Dragon!

Well this is our first year actually celebrating the CNY. We went to Fredericton to the Playhouse for their 35th Anniversary of the Chinese Cultural Association of NB & the Chinese New Year of Dragon. The show was very good and very long. It went about 3hrs, but Keely did great. Here is a brief history of the year of the Dragon:


According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2012 is the Year of the Dragon, which begins on January 23, 2012 and ends on February 9, 2013.  The Dragon is the fifth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 Animal signs.  The Dragon is a creature of myth and legend.  In ancient China, the celestial Dragon represents an emperor and  power. Today, it  is the ultimate auspicious symbol signifying success and happiness.   May the celestial Dragon bring great good luck to everyone.

I am hoping this week to try and make some dumplings and have some friends and family for a Chinese feast, we'll see how the dumpling making goes!

    WOW...this was in Fredericton??? Looks like an amazing show! We'll have to remember that for next year! This year we celebrated with friends here in Grand Falls! It was our first WITHOUT our daughter....hopefully next year will include her!!!
